The Costa del Sol - from Malaga to Gibraltar - is a well developed region with a wide variety of dependable facilities and services. Not only that, many businesses speak English, or are English-speaking owned.
At the very least Andalucians are friendly and helpful towards 'extranjeros' and if the foreigner can manage a few words of Spanish, well so much the better.
