Website Problems?

To get the best out of this website, consider the following . . .

  • Your web browser [e.g Internet Explorer] should be set to a medium font size.
In the top left browser menu strip, select "View" then "Text Size" then "Medium"
This is in fact the 'normal' browser setting.
If you have this set to anything larger then words will try to burst out of their screen 'containers' and you'll lose a lot of the navigation functionality we've built in.

  • Look at the site in a maximised window.
Click on the 'enlarge' box [] in the top right of the window (next to the [x] button).
That way you'll minimise unnecessary 'scroll bars' that take up screen space.

  • Or, look at the site full-screen.
Hit the "F11" key on your keyboard.
This 'toggles' (switches between) full-screen mode. Hit it again and your browser will return to a 'normal' window.

  • View at medium resolution. (Most new computers will have already been set to this by default)
    Something like 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 800 (this might vary a bit according to your screen's proportions).
Go to the 'desktop'. Right click on the desktop, choose 'properties' then 'settings' and change the 'screen resolution' appropriately.
A 'coarser' (lower) resolution will result in the site and its typefaces appearing bigger than intended. On the other hand a 'finer' (higher) resolution will make words appear quite small, possibly too small to read comfortably.

  • Changing these settings should be quite safe and suit your machine not only for this site but for most other websites as well. (There's nothing special about this one, in that respect). This site has been designed to work adequately at an 800 x 600 screen resolution for older machines and monitors.

This page is intentionally different in style and typeface size so that it should read ok,
whatever your machine is currently set to.
